Summer Time.

Fri Jul 3, 2009, 7:29 PM
  • Mood: Depressed
  • Listening to: Fear the Boot - Episode 154
  • Reading: Cthulhu Live 3rd Edition
  • Watching: Cthulhu (2007)
  • Playing: Fallout 2
  • Eating: Yogurt.
  • Drinking: Water.
Summer time always is the worst time for me. Honestly friends decide to bugger off for what ever reason they are always small and trivial and always pointless to me. But whatever.

We were running a D&D 4th Ed game but that's pretty much gone to shit since we had two players bail. In the process a d20 Dark*Matter game (on hold cause we started 4th Ed D&D on D&D day), a New Wave Requiem LARP and a Cthulhu Live LARP all seriously injured if not killed out right because of all of this.

But no I can never expect my players to talk to me when something is bother them. Yea I make firm decisions at times and everything is made for a reason. But apparently they were feeling I was taking advantage of their friendship because I would go and pick up like my mail at the post office and decide "Well since I'm here I might as well get something to eat at Subway." So apparently because I didn't buy them anything they take it as me taking advantage of their loyalty. These are people I've let crash at my house countless times with out complaint, let them raid my fridge countless times without complaining that they go through a weeks of groceries in a day. So apparently by me doing something for me it makes me the bad guy.

Anywho, that aside I've been wanting to run a SciFi game lately. Just haven't decided on what. Maybe a Star Craft setting using the Star Frontier rules. I also was particular to Star Trek and the new Star Trek Reimagining was pretty decent. Maybe a Serenity game I got the rules and my players loved it... but I wanted to go more with a Space Opera type of thing... Hoping to look for some more players soon, If not my gaming group will fall apart again...

The Lost Art of... "Reading"

Wed May 13, 2009, 9:58 AM
  • Mood: Content
  • Listening to: Marilyn Manson - The Golden Age of Grotesque.
  • Reading: Brian Keene - Dead Sea.
  • Watching: Caprica.
  • Playing: Plants Vs. Zombies.
  • Eating: Nothing.
  • Drinking: Dr. Pepper.
Well it's been a good long while since I finished reading a book a real book anyways not a Roleplaying Book. I have to admit it's nice. I just finished Dead Sea by Brian Keene. It has a very surreal ending and I would suggest anyone to give it a read. It's suprising how just by reading it stimulates your mind. Once you start you don't really wanna stop reading until your done. It's a shame today's generation has little respect for Reading.

Entertainment has become so passive now days. We watch movies and TV. Things that tell us how to things are suppose to look like. We listen to music. Rather then writing new pieces. Have we become so sedative in society that we will become the bloated blobs of a flesh presented in the heartwarming movie Wall-e. Sure it was comical but I can already see our society heading that way. It's such a shame...

Airsoft, Gaming, & Loyalties

Fri Apr 10, 2009, 6:28 AM
  • Mood: Rant
  • Listening to: Fear the Boot - Episode 142.
  • Reading: New Wave Requiem.
  • Watching: The Sarah Conner Chronicles - Season 1.
  • Playing: Sonic and the Black Knight.
  • Eating: Nothing.
  • Drinking: Nothing.
So as some of you my know I'm a GM meaning Game Master, Last week we had one of our gaming group members who is a friend of mine bail out on game cause of a relationship thing. That was alright with me I just was a little agitated due to the fact that I ask for prior notice if someone is going to miss. Not like I'm a meddler or anything I just like a little heads up if someone is going to miss. If it's an emergency or something that's cool with me I can understand. But basically everyone is crucial to my games. I have a bout a group four people and when I work on the story I make it with these people in mind. That doesn't mean I'm a one group guy, not at all, just this particular group is what I call my core group.

So it turns out this guy wanted to spend time with his chick which is fine. But he completely 100% blew us off. We called him, tried to get a hold of him, and even got a hold of his chick. He told us he was coming over and we waited.

Well Friday we Game D&D, Saturday we Airsoft in the day and Game a round table (meaning each person takes different turns GMing) at the evening. And if a person misses it throws things off. We still had fun without him but still.

So Monday I see and tell him "Hey man you really screwed up the weekend. Your in all my games so make a decisions are you gonna be in or out?" I didn't cuss him out or anything just an honest statement and question. Well now's he's completely blowing us off and even is being rude to my Wife which I feel is uncalled for.

I mean I got this guy into gaming in the first place all I ask from my players is a little heads up as far as attendance. That's it.

Where has the time gone

Wed Feb 11, 2009, 11:05 AM
  • Mood: Suffering
  • Listening to: Marilyn Manson - Eat Me. Drink Me.
  • Reading: d20 Dark*Matter
  • Watching: The Gamers: Dorkness Rising
  • Playing: Alien Syndrome (WII)
  • Eating: Nothing.
  • Drinking: Water
Well it's been a while since I posted a journal and it's also been a while since I posted any new content mainly because of the fact my camera(s) both of them broke sadly. My cellphone shattered apart and though while I can still recieve and make calls (by memory) I cannot see the screen at all so oh well it's fuckled. My second HD camera was broken in an accident on July 4th but we were able to recover the SD card.

Income tax should be coming in soon about 1k I'm getting back so that's good. I really could use the extra cash I gotta get my car tuned up and new glasses for me and my fiance and a few other things that need to be done.

Also been working like a dog about 10 hours a day most of which is extra pay but I don't see that extra pay until the end of the semesters which is ok with me it means a bigger check at the end. It really helped out with Xmas first semester and the second semester I plan on going on vacation with it.

Got my Netflix renewed and so back to enjoying movies and loving the invention called Redbox. Movies out the Wazooh now days.

Gaming wise I'm pretty satisfied, I'm running a d20 Dark*Matter game that takes from X-Files and Fringe and the players seem to love it and I'm actually enjoying running it. Our group is also doing round table games which is alot of fun and a stress reliever off me. I'm currently in a Engel d20 game which I am enjoying immensely because I love the world of Engel. I'm also in a Demon Hunters game which is loads of fun and makes me laugh since it's written by the guys who did The Gamers and The Gamers: Dorkness Rising. Also in another game with is an Oriental Adventures D&D game which I'm Munchikining the hell outta and I don't regret it one bit! My friend Johnny is also suppose to run us an Abberant game but he has as of yet put that into the rotation.

I also recently purchased the Battletech starter rules from Myth Adventures. My dad use to play back in the day and now I'm experiencing what he did man it's alota fun but also complicated for new players. Trying to get a Battle Tech league started up here so we'll see how that goes.
